eBay Seller Fees

Final value fees, store plans, and total selling costs — updated March 2026

Last updated: March 2026

Fee Overview

eBay charges sellers a final value fee of 10–13% depending on the product category, which includes payment processing. This simplified fee structure (introduced with eBay Managed Payments) means there is no separate payment processing charge on top of the final value fee. Store subscriptions range from $4.95/month (Starter) to $2,999.95/month (Enterprise) in the US, or from £21.95/month (Basic) in the UK.

Sellers receive a monthly allowance of free insertion fees (listings) — 250 free listings per month for most sellers, more with store subscriptions. After the free allowance, each additional listing costs $0.35. For high-volume sellers, upgrading to a store subscription that includes more free listings is often more cost-effective than paying per-listing fees.

eBay also charges optional promoted listings fees (CPC or CPA advertising), international selling fees for cross-border transactions, and additional fees for certain listing upgrades. The total cost of selling on eBay typically ranges from 12–16% of the sale price for most sellers, making it competitive with Amazon for many categories.

Fee Optimization Tips

Upgrade to a store subscription if you exceed the free listing allowance — the math usually favors a Basic Store at 100+ listings/month

The final value fee includes payment processing, so eBay's effective rate is actually competitive with marketplaces that charge commission + payment fee separately

Use Promoted Listings Standard (CPA model) to pay for advertising only when you get a sale — start at the suggested rate and adjust based on ROI

Avoid unnecessary listing upgrades (bold, gallery plus) — they rarely generate enough additional sales to justify their cost

For cross-border selling, the additional 1.65% international fee is modest — eBay's global buyer base makes international sales profitable despite the extra fee
