Etsy Seller Fees

Listing fees, transaction fees, and total selling costs — updated March 2026

Last updated: March 2026

Fee Overview

Etsy charges sellers a $0.20 listing fee per item, a 6.5% transaction fee on the sale price (including shipping), and payment processing fees of 3% + $0.25 per transaction through Etsy Payments. This three-layer fee structure means total selling costs on Etsy typically range from 10–12% of the sale price, making it comparable to Amazon and eBay.

Each listing costs $0.20 and lasts for 4 months or until the item sells. When an item sells, the listing is automatically renewed for another $0.20. The 6.5% transaction fee applies to the total order amount including any shipping charges — an important detail that many sellers overlook when calculating margins.

Etsy also offers an optional Etsy Plus subscription ($10/month) with advanced shop customization and listing credits, and Etsy Ads for CPC-based advertising. The Offsite Ads program automatically enrolls sellers and charges 15% on sales generated through Etsy's external advertising (12% for shops with $10,000+ in trailing year revenue). Sellers earning under $10,000/year can opt out of Offsite Ads.

Fee Optimization Tips

Calculate your true Etsy cost: $0.20 listing + 6.5% transaction + 3% + $0.25 payment processing = roughly 10–12% total on a typical sale

The 6.5% transaction fee applies to shipping too — if you charge $10 for shipping, you pay $0.65 in transaction fees on that shipping alone. Consider including shipping in your product price instead.

If your shop earns under $10,000/year, opt out of Offsite Ads to avoid the 15% fee on externally-driven sales — unless the additional exposure is worth it for your business

Multi-quantity listings are more cost-effective than individual listings — each variation only costs $0.20, but multiple quantities within one listing share the same listing fee

Etsy Plus ($10/month) includes 15 listing credits ($3 value) and advanced customization — only worth it if you use the shop customization features regularly
