How Allegro Fees Work

Allegro is Poland's largest e-commerce marketplace, handling over 75% of all online transactions in the country. Understanding its fee structure is essential for any seller aiming to sell profitably on the platform. Unlike Amazon or eBay, Allegro keeps its fee model relatively straightforward: listing is free, there is no mandatory subscription to start selling, and no insertion fees for standard listings. Optional business subscriptions (49 to 3,000 PLN per month) are available and reduce commission rates for higher-volume sellers.

Prowizja (Sales Commission)

The prowizja is Allegro's primary fee. Per Allegro's official price list, net commission rates range from 1% to 17% depending on the category: OTC medicines pay just 1%, Electronics 2.5-8%, Home & Garden 4.5-11%, and "Accessories and others" 13-17%. Fashion uses tiered pricing — 11.5% net on items up to 110 PLN, with a reduced rate on the amount above. Crucially, the commission is calculated on the item price together with the delivery cost paid by the buyer, and it is only charged on completed transactions. Allegro's full price list covers over 9,000 categories, so always check your exact subcategory rate — this calculator uses representative typical rates for the major top-level categories.

VAT on the Commission — and No Separate Payment Fee

Allegro's published commission rates are net, which means 23% Polish VAT is added to the commission — a 10% net rate works out to roughly 12.3% gross, and that gross amount is what actually leaves your payout. There is no separate payment processing fee: payment costs (Allegro Pay, credit/debit cards, BLIK, and bank transfers) are included in the commission. Older guides that mention a 1.3% payment fee are outdated — per Allegro's current official price list, that charge no longer exists as a separate line item.

Advertising (Allegro Ads)

Allegro Ads is an optional cost-per-click advertising system, with CPC rates starting from 0.10 PLN per click — it is not a percentage-of-price promotion fee. You set your own budget and pay only when shoppers click your sponsored offers, so your actual advertising cost depends on your category's click prices and how aggressively you bid. The advertising field in this calculator lets you estimate your own ad spend as a share of the sale price so the profit figure reflects your true all-in cost.

Smart! Program

Allegro Smart! is a free-shipping membership program for buyers (similar to Amazon Prime). Sellers who participate in Smart! get a significant boost in search rankings and a "Smart!" badge on their listings, which dramatically increases click-through rates. While Smart! itself doesn't add a direct fee, sellers must offer free shipping on qualifying orders (typically above 40 PLN), which means the shipping cost becomes part of your expenses. Many top Allegro sellers consider Smart! participation essential for competitiveness.

How to Use This Calculator

1

Choose Your Category

Select the Allegro product category that matches your item. Each category has a different prowizja rate — we use typical net rates; your exact subcategory rate is in Allegro's official price list. If you sell across multiple categories, run the calculator once per category to compare margins.

2

Enter Prices in PLN

Input your item sale price and buyer-paid shipping charge in Polish zloty. Allegro calculates the commission on the item price together with the delivery cost, so both amounts matter.

3

Review Your Profit

See the full fee breakdown: net prowizja, the 23% VAT added to it, and your optional advertising estimate. The net revenue shows exactly what you keep after Allegro takes its share.

How to Reduce Your Allegro Fees

1. Earn Super Sprzedawca Status

Super Sprzedawca (Super Seller) is Allegro's top seller badge, awarded based on sales volume, low cancellation rates, fast shipping, and high buyer ratings. While it doesn't directly lower prowizja, it gives you higher search rankings, a trust badge, and access to exclusive promotional tools. Super Sellers typically see 15-30% higher conversion rates, which means more sales to spread your fixed costs over. Focus on maintaining a 4.8+ rating, shipping within 24 hours, and keeping cancellation rates below 2%.

2. Consider an Optional Business Subscription

Listing on Allegro is free and no subscription is required — but Allegro's optional business subscriptions (49 to 3,000 PLN per month) reduce commission rates across many categories. Run the numbers: if your monthly commission savings at the reduced rates exceed the subscription price, upgrading is pure margin. High-volume sellers on the larger plans often recover the subscription cost many times over.

3. Choose Categories Strategically

If your product fits multiple Allegro categories, consider listing it in the one with a lower commission rate. Per Allegro's official price list, Electronics subcategories run 2.5-8% net while "Accessories and others" runs 13-17% — the category choice alone can more than double or halve your fees. Always check Allegro's full price list (9,000+ categories) for your exact subcategory rate, which can differ significantly from the parent category.

4. Participate in Smart! for Volume

Allegro Smart! listings get priority in search results and a distinctive badge that drives clicks. While offering free shipping on orders above 40 PLN costs money, the increased conversion rate and order volume typically outweigh the shipping expense. Remember that commission applies to buyer-paid delivery too, so building shipping into a free-delivery price doesn't raise your fees. Sellers who join Smart! report an average 20-40% increase in sales.

5. Control Your Allegro Ads Spend

Allegro Ads is billed per click, from 0.10 PLN per click, so your ad cost is a budget you control — not a fee Allegro sets. Start with a small daily budget, monitor cost-per-click and conversion in Allegro Analytics, and scale spend only on high-margin products or during peak seasons (Black Friday, pre-Christmas). For low-margin items, rely on organic ranking instead of paying for clicks that erase your profit.
